The SATO CL4-SXR series of industrial label printers combines fast printing, precise output and straightforward operation. Supporting both direct thermal and thermal transfer printing, the series is designed for demanding manufacturing, warehousing and logistics applications.
The CL4-SXR delivers print speeds of up to 457.2 mm/s at 203 dpi and 406.4 mm/s at 305 dpi. A 609 dpi model is also available for small labels, dense 2D codes and detailed markings. Advanced sensors and media handling enable print positioning accuracy of up to ±0.3 mm under the manufacturer’s specified test conditions. Actual accuracy depends on the media and operating environment.
A die-cast aluminium frame and redesigned printing mechanism support reliable performance in industrial environments. A quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, 8 GB Flash memory and 2 GB RAM provide the processing capacity required for demanding printing tasks.
Daily operation is simplified by a customisable 4.3-inch colour touchscreen. Print preview, built-in guidance videos and on-screen instructions help operators manage printing tasks and resolve problems.
AI-powered predictive maintenance through SATO Online Services (SOS) helps identify potential printhead issues before they cause downtime. Remote management functions make it easier to monitor and maintain printers.
The CL4-SXR includes SATO’s Application Enabled Printing (AEP) platform. Custom applications allow the printer to operate independently without a host computer. Extensive interfaces and printer language emulations simplify integration with existing systems. Optional UHF and HF RFID kits enable RFID label printing and encoding.
A label waste prevention function allows printing from the first label on a newly loaded roll under supported conditions. The printer accommodates label rolls up to 220 mm in diameter and ribbons up to 600 metres long.
