Expansion joints

The range of metal expansion joints includes several designs for different movements and piping configurations. The range covers, among others, axial expansion joints, universal expansion joints, articulated hinged and gimbal designs, and pressure balanced expansion joints. Solutions are also available for high pressures, high temperatures and special processes.

Universal designs can accommodate large lateral movements, while a pressure balanced expansion joint allows axial and lateral movements to be controlled without the pressure thrust generated by the internal pressure of the bellows being transmitted in the same way to the surrounding piping or equipment. This is important, for example, in connection with turbines and other load-sensitive equipment.
