LABEL PRINTERS
Label printing needs exist everywhere, ranging from individual labeling tasks to continuous industrial production. Labels are needed in laboratories, warehouses, logistics, production lines, and packaging operations, for example. Depending on the application, the right solution may be a portable mobile printer, a compact desktop printer, an industrial-grade label printer designed for continuous operation, or a large-format printing solution capable of producing labels up to A3 size.
When printing volumes are lower and a compact footprint is required, a desktop label printer is a practical choice. These compact printers typically feature plastic casings and use smaller material rolls: the label roll diameter is approximately 100 mm, and the ribbon length is around 100 m. The printing width of these printers is typically 53 mm or 104 mm.
Industrial-grade label printers for multi-shift use
For multi-shift operations, a durable, metal-cased industrial-grade label printer is typically chosen, as it can accommodate significantly larger material rolls. The label roll diameter can be approximately 200 mm, and the ribbon length can be up to 600 m. The larger media capacity reduces the need for material changes, while powerful processors and large memory capacity enable high printing speeds.
The most common printing width for industrial-grade label printers is 104 mm, but models are also available for A5-, A4-, and A3-sized labels. For large-format label printing, our range includes Ventus A3, which has been developed specifically for the needs of the paper industry and can be integrated into various packaging systems.
In Thermal Transfer printing, the heating elements in the print head heat the ribbon according to the desired print image, transferring the pigment onto the printing material. The control unit precisely regulates the heating elements to produce text, patterns, and other markings. In Direct Thermal printing, no ribbon is required, as the image is produced directly on thermally sensitive label material.
Color label printers for product-specific labeling
Color label printers are an excellent solution when product-specific information needs to be printed in color. Labels can include product images, logos, symbols, or other visual information. Color printing makes it possible to change label content and design as needed without the need for separate pre-printed labels.
Color label printers are ideal for:
- replacing pre-printed labels when printing volumes are low and the number of product variations is high
- printing product-specific information in color
- applications where label content or design changes frequently
Depending on the model, these printers can achieve printing speeds of up to 300 mm/s and print resolutions of up to 1600 dpi.
