LINEAR SENSORS
There are many models and operating methods for linear sensors. Measurement can be absolute or incremental: with absolute sensors, the measurement information is immediately available after power is turned on, whereas with incremental sensors, it must first go to the home position and start counting from there.
Sensors can be either contact-based or contactless, utilizing various measurement techniques such as potentiometric, inductive, and magnetic contactless.
The output signal can be analog (potentiometer / 0.5-4.5 VDC / 0-10 VDC or 4-20 mA) or digital
