Product description

A wide range of inductive switches from Baumer. An inductive limit switch provides an output signal when metal or other highly conductive material approaches the sensing surface. The structure of an inductive switch consists of an oscillator, a detection circuit, and an amplifier. The detection distance of an inductive switch is influenced by the diameter and material of the switch. Typically, a larger diameter requires a larger counterpart, but the detection distance is also greater. Attention should be paid to the installation of the switch; not all switch models can be installed flush with a flat surface, but the sensing head must be somewhat off the surface to function correctly, while models suitable for recessed installation can be flush with the surface and do not react immediately to material next to the sensing head.
