Product description
The DIS QG65 dynamic tilt sensor provides continuous, clean angle measurement within a single sensor module.
After extensive testing, fine-tuning, and field trials, the new dynamic tilt sensor from DIS Sensors is now ready to enter the market. This new sensor is designed to eliminate spikes in tilt measurements caused by vibrations and shocks from the normal operation of machinery. This innovative sensor, operating on an entirely new hardware and software platform and powered by the latest MEMS chip, combines a triaxial accelerometer and a triaxial gyroscope to calculate highly reliable angle values. It is efficient, reliable, and significantly more economical than traditional alternatives.
What is an angle?
In all machines, the position of every part changes constantly due to the operator’s actions and countless other factors. Machine designers use tilt and accelerometers to continuously measure all critical component angles (on 1, 2, or 3 axes). However, vibrations and occasional shocks can contaminate these measurements. The usual solution is to include additional sensors to separately measure false accelerations and filter or smooth out the spikes from the tilt measurement. But in addition to making the product more complex and expensive, these extra measurements and calculations also increase the delay in the control system and often affect the safety of the machines.
Dynamic tilt sensor – simply a clean signal
With the advancements in affordable MEMS (Micro-Electrical-Mechanical Systems) technology, global sensor experts at DIS Sensors have been able to solve these issues with a compact integrated sensor module: the dynamic tilt sensor. The new module combines both acceleration and gyroscopic angle measurement on three axes simultaneously, as in the popular DIS QG65 series. The resulting gyro-compensated signal, fed into the control system, is clean and unaffected by false accelerations and impacts. The angle data is transmitted as a separate CANopen object for each axis. A powerful integrated controller can be customized to handle all input and output signals according to predefined application profiles and a user-friendly configuration tool.
The tilt sensor is also manufactured for vehicle use according to E4 (E1) approval.
QG65 Configuration Tool
The QG65 configuration tool allows you to make settings for the sensor. With the tool, you can also save the sensor settings to a file and upload them to another sensor.
The tool can also store the sensor’s measurement data in a log file.
Currently, it is only available for CAN / J1939 sensor versions. For models with analog output, the tool is coming soon.
QG65 Mounting Plate
The QG65 mounting plate enables the installation of the QG65 series sensor into the mounting holes of IFM/FRABA sensors.
