Riikka Sjöblom began her career at KLINGER Finland Oy as an office assistant back in 1991. Over the course of her long career, she has had a variety of roles within the company, including, as a switchboard operator, billing specialist, buyer and currently as a sales negotiator in product labeling. According to Sjöblom, it has been easy to transition between roles within the company based on her own skills and interests. She finds her work as a sales negotiator to be highly rewarding.
In her current role, Sjöblom is responsible for product labeling supplies, particularly labels and ribbons. About ten years ago, she also took on a team leader position. Today she leads the sales support team for both product labeling and electronics. The role of a sales negotiator has provided her with numerous rewarding experiences and valuable challenges for growth.
As a sales negotiator, her responsibilities include preparing customer offers, processing orders and overseeing deliveries. As a team leader, she holds an important responsibility for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations and continuous development of the team. She conducts annual development discussions as well as mid-year-follow-ups, where they review the progress of mutually agreed goals and areas for development. She monitors the team’s workload and redistributes tasks within the team when necessary. Sjöblom is also responsible for coordinating team holidays, ensuring that operations continue smoothly even during vacation periods.
With her role as a team leader, Sjöblom was give the opportunity to complete a specialist vocational qualification in technology alongside her job, with a focus on supervisory. A few colleagues from other departments also participated in the same program. She tells that she has received a lot of support as she stepped into her new role. Her job also allows her to use her language skills weekly, and KLINGER Finland has supported the development of her English proficiency through three separate courses.

Sjöblom describes her current role as a sales negotiator as both versatile and suitably challenging. She values the independence and the ability to plan her own workdays: ” I think my current role gives me just the right amount of responsibility and freedom to complete tasks in the way I see best.” She especially enjoys solving clients’ sometimes complex labeling needs and the appreciation she receives from customers is always rewarding. “Collaboration with my friendly and skilled team works well and I can rely on support from my supervisor when needed.”
