Virtausmittarit veden virtauksen seurantaan

KLINGER Finland has expanded its product portfolio in the field of instrumentation and now offers even more comprehensive solutions for measuring the flow of liquids and gases. Flow meters are essential tools for process control, energy efficiency monitoring, and ensuring product quality across various industries.

Flow meters are suitable for applications in:

  • food industry
  • waterworks and wastewater treatment
  • energy measurement and monitoring
  • metal industry
  • marine industry
  • pulp and paper industry
  • construction and HVAC sector

Different measurement technologies

Magnetic flow meters

Magnetic flow meters operate based on the electromagnetic principle without moving parts. The measurement relies on Faraday’s law of induction: when a conductive liquid flows through a magnetic field, a voltage is induced that is directly proportional to the flow velocity.

  • Suitable for liquids with conductivity ≥ 5 µS/cm
  • Available in sizes DN15–DN3000
  • Temperature range -20…180 °C, depending on the lining
  • Outputs 4…20 mA / pulse, with optional HART, Modbus, RS485 or Profibus DP
  • Hygienic version available for food, pharmaceutical, and bioprocess applications
  • Model with energy calculator available for energy consumption monitoring

Mechanical flow meters

Mechanical flow meters measure flow with moving parts, such as an impeller or piston, and do not require electricity to operate. The flowing medium drives the mechanism, and its speed indicates the flow rate.

  • Suitable for both liquids and gases
  • Can be used with non-conductive media

Ultrasonic flow meters

Ultrasonic flow meters measure flow by sending ultrasonic signals both with and against the flow direction. The transducers alternate as transmitters and receivers. The flow accelerates the downstream signal and slows the upstream one; the difference in transit times indicates the flow velocity. Unlike traditional meters, installation is easy outside the pipe without direct contact with the liquid.

  • Easy installation with clamp-on mounting
  • Hygienic, as the meter is not in contact with the liquid

Coriolis flow meters

Coriolis flow meters provide highly accurate measurements for nearly any medium. The liquid is directed through a vibrating tube where the flow generates a Coriolis force. This force changes the tube’s vibration, which is analyzed to precisely determine flow rate and mass flow.

  • Simultaneous measurement of mass flow, density, and temperature
  • Suitable for liquids, gases, and slurries

Broad range of solutions for reliable process control

Thanks to the variety of measurement technologies, KLINGER Finland’s flow meters offer versatile options for monitoring water and other liquid flows. Whether it’s optimizing energy consumption, ensuring product quality, or meeting hygienic standards in food processing, customers can choose the most suitable solution for their application.
