KLINGER Finland Electrifies Its Entire Vehicle Fleet – Delivery of 18 Ford Passenger Cars Completes the Transition

KLINGER Finland sähköistää koko autokantansa – 18 Ford-henkilöauton toimitus viimeistelee siirtymän

KLINGER Finland’s entire company vehicle fleet will become fully electric once the final vehicles arrive in the coming weeks. The delivery of 18 Ford Capri and Explorer electric vehicles by Autokeskus Oy marks a significant milestone in the company’s long-term sustainability efforts. KLINGER Finland has already reduced its direct emissions and emissions from purchased energy by 76% between 2019 and 2025. Fleet electrification supports the company’s strategic goal of minimizing CO₂ emissions from its own operations by the end of 2026.

On October 6, 2026, Autokeskus delivered 16 fully electric Ford vehicles to KLINGER Finland. The remaining two vehicles included in the order will be delivered in the coming weeks. Their arrival will complete the company’s phased transition to an entirely electric vehicle fleet.

Electrification eliminates direct tailpipe emissions during vehicle operation.

“Fleet electrification is a significant milestone for us and a concrete step toward our sustainability goals. However, it was equally important to select vehicles that meet our employees’ daily needs. Together with Autokeskus and Ford, we found a comprehensive solution that combines practical functionality with our goal of reducing emissions from our own operations,” says Marko Latikka, Procurement Manager at KLINGER Finland Oy.

Emissions Reduced Even Before the Final Vehicle Deliveries

KLINGER Finland’s direct emissions from its own operations (Scope 1) and emissions from purchased energy (Scope 2) decreased from 401 to 98 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e) between 2019 and 2025. This represents a reduction of approximately 76%. The reported emission figures are based on actual data and calculations performed by an external expert using established greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting methodologies. The figures have not yet been independently verified.

The fleet renewal has progressed in stages. Vehicle fuel consumption decreased by approximately 52% between 2019 and 2025, and the company’s infrastructure of 34 EV charging points supports the transition to electric mobility. The full impact of fleet electrification is not yet reflected in the 2025 emission figures.

Vehicles Selected to Meet Everyday Work Requirements

The project began in the summer of 2025, when KLINGER Finland started evaluating suitable vehicle models and potential partners. Working with Autokeskus and Ford, the company identified a solution that met its operational needs.

The selection process emphasized the vehicles’ suitability for employees’ daily work, as well as access to sufficient information about vehicle operation and maintenance requirements. Collaboration with Autokeskus and Ford covered the entire process, from evaluating alternatives to vehicle handover. KLINGER Finland describes the cooperation as long-term, smooth, and practical.

“A partnership of this scale is not something we see every day in the passenger car business. It is a great pleasure to be involved in electrifying the vehicle fleet of a forward-looking company like KLINGER Finland,” says Mauri Särkinen, Sales Director at Autokeskus.

Ford’s Finnish importer also welcomes the collaboration. “On behalf of Ford, I would like to thank KLINGER Finland for placing its trust in the Ford brand. I would also like to thank both KLINGER Finland and Autokeskus for their smooth cooperation throughout the process,” says Johan Nylund, Business Sales Manager at Oy Ford Ab. “I wish all KLINGER Finland Ford drivers many enjoyable and safe miles in their new vehicles.”

Fleet electrification is one part of KLINGER Finland’s long-term sustainability efforts. The company is also reducing the environmental impact of its operations through improved energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy, and the continued development of logistics, packaging solutions, and recycling practices.
