The strategic work we began in 2022 received wonderful recognition on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, when The Strategic Management Society of Finland (SSJS) awarded KLINGER Finland with the 2024 Strategy Act of the Year Award.
The Strategy Act of the Year is a visible and impactful strategic move that has contributed positively to the development of Finland, a specific company, industry or community. The action may be a decision, or a new product introduced during the year or part of a longer-term process. The Strategic Management Society of Finland has been giving this award since 2014, and this year, the recognition was presented in cooperation with KPMG Finland.
The finalists for this year’s Strategy Act Award were diverse. Alongside KLINGER Finland, Saarioinen, Silo AI, and Tappara were also finalists, all of whom have demonstrated extensive employee engagement in strategic work and the courage to make tough decisions. SSJS awarded KLINGER Finland the 2024 Strategy Act of the Year Award with the following argument
KLINGER Finland has succeeded in achieving growth during a time when many others have struggled. Under the leadership of the new Managing Director, the company has systematically built a strong strategy. KLINGER Finland is one of the best-performing companies in the entire Austrian KLINGER Group. While others are slowing down, KLINGER has accelerated forward, investing heavily in recruitment. This strategic boldness shows that success is possible even in challenging times when the direction is clear, and the goals are high.
The driving force behind our 2023–2026 strategic work has been our clear objectives. We aim to be the most desired and valued partner for our customers, both during the design phase and throughout the logistics chain. This involves better productizing our existing services and creating a more comprehensive service package. Our goal is to boldly leverage the latest technological trends, such as Power2X solutions, which we have integrated into our offerings. Achieving carbon neutrality in our operations by the end of 2026 is also important to us. International expansion remains a strong guiding force, and we have already secured three significant international customerships.
In addition to satisfied customers, our internal goal in our strategy includes happy and committed employees. Our strategy aimed to recruit 30 new employees by the end of 2026, a goal we have already reached. Increasing our workforce requires us to develop our processes and mindset to accommodate a company with over 200 professionals and to improve our digital platform capabilities and tools. Additionally, we want to create a unified corporate culture across all our locations: Masala in Kirkkonummi, our subsidiary ECONOSTO in Kuopio, and KLINGER Baltic in Tallinn. In KLINGER Baltic, we have made significant investments by recruiting new staff and investing in significantly larger and more functional premises. We have provided them with considerable support, and we have also received support from them. All this will also enable us to expand our operations more widely in the Baltic region, in Latvia and Lithuania, in addition to Estonia.
Tuomas Hölsä from Kustannusosakeyhtiö Koivuniemi has been a strong support and mentor in our strategic work. We have worked closely with Tuomas for a long time, and we want to thank him and share a part of this recognition with him.
